Kraftwerk is a German electronic band formed in Düsseldorf
in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Widely considered
innovators and pioneers of electronic music, Kraftwerk was among the
first successful acts to popularise the genre.
Kraftwerk's most famous song is arguably "The Model" (or "Das Model"), which became an unexpected UK number one hit in 1982 and remains one of their most accessible tracks, though "Autobahn" and "Trans-Europe Express" are also incredibly influential classics. "The Model" gained massive popularity due to its catchy, melodic electro-pop sound, making it a crossover hit.
